Q1. Belledorm has an amazing history in a truly unique location in Manchester. What more can you tell ufurnish.com about the history of Belledorm?
Belledorm is a well-established UK-based online retailer specializing in high-quality bedding products. With a history spanning over 40 years, this family-run business has been committed to enhancing the quality of sleep for its customers. We are based in the “Heart of UK textiles” just outside Manchester. Working out of a former Textile Mill dating back to the 19th Century we have a 240,000 square foot facility that houses our offices, showrooms and warehouse and distribution facility. Being all under one roof makes communication and logistics highly efficient.
Established for over 48 years, we have seen many changes in our business. However, we are proud to have adapted to all the challenges and changes to build and maintain a distinguished reputation in the UK bedlinen market as one of the largest suppliers of Exceptional Home Linens. Our values of 48 years ago have stood us in good stead and are as relevant today as when we started out in business. Q2. The evidence suggests that we sleep for around ⅓ of our lives, luckily Belledorm has a huge variety of products available. How can you provide so many different options and variations?

Q3. I know when I bought my sheets there is a lot of jargon out there that is confusing to consumers, like thread count and fitted sheets vs flat sheets - can you help dissect some of this?
It's essential for consumers to understand these differences when purchasing bed linens to ensure they get the right products for their needs. When shopping for sheets, it's essential to consider not only the thread count but also the material (e.g., cotton, Egyptian cotton, bamboo) and the type of sheet (fitted or flat) that best suits their preferences and sleeping habits. It is a minefield out there, but we have some bed time reading on our blog page for all these questions that we regularly get asked.
Simply, thread count refers to the number of threads woven into one square inch of fabric. It is often used as an indicator of the quality and softness of the bed linen. The general belief is that a higher thread count means a better-quality sheet. However, this isn't always the case.
A fitted sheets is the sheet that is designed to fit snugly over the mattress, staying in place and providing a smooth surface to sleep on. All of ours are elasticated on all 4 corners.
The flat sheet typically placed on top of the fitted sheet and under the duvet or blanket. They don't have elasticized corners and are meant to be tucked in around the sides and foot of the mattress.
