PN Home are one of the largest online retailers of furniture in the UK. Their in-house design team is continuously trying to meet modern-day demands by expanding their own range of furniture while others source the very best furniture and homewares from around the world.
ufurnish.com Co-Founder and CEO, Deirdre McGettrick, sat down with PN Home’s Co-Founder, Prabhat Rai, to learn more about the inspiration behind the brand.
Q1. PN Home is part of Life Interiors International and has become a well recognised brand in online retailing since launching in 2013. What was the inspiration behind the creation of PN Home?
I was still in university when me and Faz (Co-Founder) realised that we could not find any designer furniture without breaking the bank. After doing some market research and speaking with our friends and family our realisation was cemented, everybody felt the same. There was a gap in the market and we had to do something about it. We pooled our savings and decided to invest in a container of ottomans.
The ottomans we designed had storage space, could be used as a seat and could be folded and put away when not in use and best of it all were only £19.99. The product was very successful. We went from nothing to a No. 1 best selling product on Amazon Home and Garden category. It gave us the confidence to invest more into other products. We now have over 1,200 lines of quality products and every one of them have been carefully designed with our customers in mind. With our products customers can always expect value for money.
Q2. PN Home has grown from selling ottoman boxes to offering a really diversified range of products. Can you tell us a little about what you offer?
We have indeed grown from selling Ottoman boxes. We do have a diversified range of products now. What we are now well known for is our dining chairs and dining table and chair sets. The variety of dining chairs is extensive to suit any needs of our customers.
From ergonomically designed Jamie Tulip Chairs, Japanese Wabi-Sabi inspired Eden Chair, eclectic Patchwork Chair to luxurious velvet Mayfair Chair and anything in between and beyond, we have got it all. We have excelled in this category for a few years now and we are actively working to bring in new categories of products. Our latest launch of products include rattan furniture, lounge chairs and extending dining tables.
Q3. Can you tell us about some of your best-selling products?
Our best selling products vary at different times of the year. Dining chairs are more or less constant throughout the year with the Jamie Tulip chair being a star of the show.
Velvet is really in right now and the Mayfair and Atarah chairs in particular are very much in demand with our customers.
As we get closer to the Holiday season we are doing very well with our extensive dining table and chair sets. The Oxford Rocco dining set is one of the favourites with our PN Home clan.
Q4. I see that you have a PN Lux range of products available which look superb. Could you tell us more about this range?
PN Lux is a sub brand we introduced earlier this year and are actively working on. Along with our current offering we wanted to venture out into a category of products that exude luxury but not compromising on our ethos of originality and affordability. The PN Lux category has products like Melia Ottomans and Vittorio Chair which look and feel like very high end expensive products but they don’t have to be expensive at PN Lux. We were able to invest in an infrastructure where we were able to cut the middle man out and manufacture ourselves.
All the savings by doing this is reflected in the price. Luxury should be affordable.
Q5. What does the next 12 months look like for PN Home and what should our ufurnish.com community look out for?
The next 12 months for PN Home is full of excitement and exuberance. We are expanding our market further away from the UK. We already have a warehouse in Germany and USA but we only carry a small selection of products in these territories. Our plan for next year is to go full throttle in these markets. The product selection expansion into these markets will allow us to be reachable by many more consumers.
In the UK our product development team is working on some fantastic ranges of products. You will be able to see an extensive range of outdoor furniture in Summer 2022. You will also be able to see expansion to our baby and PN Lux ranges. There is a lot to look forward to.
