Home Influencers Rich List

The history of marketing influencers stretches back to the middle ages. The concept wasn’t as polished as it is now. But it was no less powerful, with popular characters and celebrities promoting products and services for their fans to buy. Since then, the world of influencers has only grown – with the niche of communities sharing inspiring content from home décor to living room makeovers to cleaning hacks growing exponentially.

In a 2018 survey, 39% of people said they were more interested in a brand/product after watching an Instagram story featuring it. So, with the era of the influencer not showing any signs of slowing, ufurnish.com wanted to find out which influencers who focused on homemaking earned the most from their sponsored posts. We looked into the most popular ‘homefluencers’ in the space and broke down our results into three main categories – interiors, cleaning, and ‘mumfluencers’ – to see who earns the most per sponsored post across both Instagram and TikTok.

Top Homefluencer Earners

The highest earners in our findings were mum influencer Stacey Solomon, cleaning influencer Sophie Hinchliffe, and mum influencer Louise Pentland. All three are most prominent on Instagram (although most have TikTok accounts, too), with 5.7 million, 4.7 million, and 3.8 million followers, respectively.

Per sponsored post, it’s estimated that Stacey Solomon makes around £14,000. Sophie Hinchliffe makes approximately £11,000. And Louise Pentland brings in just over £9,000 for every sponsored post she creates. To put that into perspective, if Stacey Solomon were to post one sponsored post daily for a full week, that’s potential earnings of around £98,000!

What Platform Are Homefluencers Having Most Success?

Based on our findings, Instagram is the platform where home influencers are having the most success. The easy-to-scroll format, alongside the ability to feature many photos per post, makes it ideal for displaying step-by-step instructions or before and after photos.

Deirdre Mc Gettrick, home expert, co-founder, and CEO of ufurnish.com, says, “Instagram has firmly established itself as the front runner in the world of influencers, offering a thriving and lucrative platform where influencers can actively engage and interact with new audiences.”

Instagram’s influencer market brings in approximately £1 billion pounds and is by far one of the best and most popular social media platforms to advertise products. 2020 brought a new set of marketing challenges and the uprising of behemoth platform TikTok meant that Instagram had a new competitor. However, our research still sees that Instagram is THE place to be if you’re looking for home, cleaning, or parenting inspiration.

As social media continues to evolve and adapt, it's going to be interesting to see how the homefluencer niche pivots in the ever-growing world of social media.”
