The Light Oak Hallway Bench is my modern take on a rustic milking stool design that will transform any empty space into a statement style spot. Made from sustainably sourced European oak timber, this narrow seat is the perfect addition to a busy entrance hallway, porch or mudroom. Measuring 49cm tall & 23 cm deep at the base, the bench has a small footprint that makes it ideal for long, narrow spaces. Long, milking stool-style benches are a timeless option for key areas in the home. This piece has been designed with the entrance hall in mind, however its simple shape & versatility also makes it a great choice as a bedside / end-of-bed bench or for holding towels & toiletries in the bathroom. Designed with a beautiful splayed leg form & light natural wood tones, the hallway bench has been made using traditional joinery & will last a lifetime of use. I wanted the piece to bring a modern farmhouse vibe, inspired by the beautiful rural setting of my country workshop in the Norfolk Broads. The bench has been finished with a natural oil & wax combination that is both durable & retains the natural look of the wood.
