Back in 1972 Jonathan Livingston Seagull helped this graceful bird become a best seller & launch the studio. It is molded in Pellucida, our proprietary compound of resins that resembles but is more durable than Bisque porcelain. With its 14 inch wingspan it soars above a select polished burlwood base. The piece stands about 14 in tall. For more secure shipping especially for overseas we will sometimes ship it disassembled. Reassembly is very easy & does not involve glue - just pushing the bird back onto the supporting wire. PLEASE NOTE: the photos are of illustrative samples. Each burl is a unique piece of nature's art, so the one you will receive will be different but of similar size & comparable beauty. It is SIGNED & comes with a CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. The base is a polished manzanita burl, responsibly harvested only from private lands where needed for fire protection brush clearance.
