Metallic Sibling Sugar Skulls

I had a pair of painted sugar skulls & decided to give these sibling skulls a metallic new look. Meet the additions to my Day of the Dead section, a sibling pair with echoed themes that vary in color & tone. The weightless styrofoam skulls have been painted in either dark metallic gold or silver as a base with ether primary (red, blue, & yellow) or secondary (purple, green, & orange) colors as accents throughout each piece. As these skulls serve different portions of the color wheel, the gold/primary sugar skull has black as its dominant contrast color while the silver/secondary sugar skull uses white. The main image on either skull is a single peacock feather that drapes across the back of the skull, curving towards the front end so that the feathers hang over the eyes. On one side of each skull, a small spider inches from the comfort of the temple towards a mandala-like color burst that fills the empty space left by the curved peacock feather. Its spider web can be seen on the opposing temple, with small chains of metallic dew-like drops. Since the images were free hand drawings, the mirrored peacock feathers (and facial designs) on both skulls will show small differences though it is important to note that the mandala-like start bursts, spiders & spiderwebs were only designed to appear similar at first glance. These sugar skulls are siblings, & not necessarily twins so I wanted the imagery to feel similar while remaining subtly unique.
