One way to help remember good times, favorite memories, or things you have done is to get a memory quilt from all those t-shirts,or other items that have been collected over the years. A memory quilt, or memory blanket is one way to always remember the fun times, the times gone by, or a personal quilt to help you remember a loved one. These quilts are made out of clothing that was worn on special occasions, or shirts from places you have been. It can also be made out of clothes from a loved one that has passed on, or just your outgrown clothing that you still consider your favorite item. You can have a t shirt quilt, made of different shirts that your loved one wore, including dress shirts, t shirts, or favorite jerseys. There is also a quilt I made of vintage tea towels that came from my grandmother, so it doesn't have to be shirts or clothes. The time it takes to make, depends on the items sent to be cut & sewn. Each quilt will have its own personality & no 2 quilts are alike. Your finished T shirt quilt, memory quilt, keepsake quilt, or memory blanket, will then be ready for a graduation gift, birthday gift, wedding gift, or a keepsake & remembrance of a loved one lost. These are all OOAK quilts that are customized & personalized just for the recipient. The price quoted is an average price per quilt. Your particular one may be more or less, depending on customization! The photos shown are actual quilts that have been made. They are meant to show the many variations that can be done, & the complete custom creation of each quilt. Average number of shirts for each size: Throw - around 15 to 20 shirts Twin - around 30 shirts Twin XL (extra long) - around 35 shirts Full/Queen - around 40 shirts King - around 50 shirts Please note the numbers are the maximum shirts that could be used. If you want to send less shirts, but want the larger sizes, that can be done. There are various creative ways to increase sizes on Memory quilts, The number of shirts is based off an average shirt size & graphic. If you shirts have larger graphics, then the number would go down. Likewise if they are smaller shirts, then that number would go up. If you want front & back of the shirts, & both sides have full graphics - then count that as 2 shirts. If one side is just like a pocket logo, or that size, then that does not count as a shirt Special Notes: The minky back is not available on the King size quilts. If you send more shirts than needed for your size, then, depending on how many more there might be a need to move up to the next size quilt. You would be asked to pay the difference in sizes, or choose some shirts that could be left off. Each quilt is custom & unique to the materials sent. The sizes are for general reference only & are not meant to be indicative of the finished size of your particular quilt. If you have any questions, please just ask & we can work out your unique quilt, with the options you want. If you are unsure of a certain aspect of your quilt, the size, the color, what shirts, or anything else, there is a deposit only option on this listing. If you buy the deposit only option, The balance left won't be owed until the quilt is ready to ship. At that point I will create a custom listing for you with the price of your quilt minus your deposit. The way it works is you send me the items that you want the quilt made out of. I will take those items & up-cycle them to create the quilt you want. I color coordinate the sashings, backgrounds, & borders with the colors or theme of the items sent, or if there is a favorite color then I go with that. You get a choice on the backing of soft minky, or a cotton print or solid, in your chosen color. I then create the quilt & send the finished product back to you. If you send items that I do not use, then I will return those items to you as well. Each quilt is different in size. These are custom, so the number of items are different, as well as the size of the borders, & if sashing was used. They can be as small as a lap blanket & as big as a King size quilt. The prices shown includes all materials, including backing. These prices will be adjusted to fit your particular need, if you want them to be bigger, or smaller than what is shown, or have different ideas on what you want.
