The other side is a plain pastel color grosgrain (rayon) textile.The two pieces are double stitched together with an invisible zipper to ease removal & cleaning of the cover. The composition of wheats are hand-dyed with a technique called Batik which uses wax to isolate parts of fabric while dye with other color. When dye slips between the wax crackles it produces very fine lines of color which is characteristic of the Batik technique.The process is usually repeated over & over to layers colors & produce unique patterns. ''Washing off'' the wax from the fabric is difficult, sensitive & time consuming but rewarding once the vibrant & shiny colors are reveled on the clean fabric.
