Relic, Box Series

Relic is part of my on-going box series. This piece holds the conceptual idea of things from our near past becoming relics as technology advances. Then in turn, those mundane practical items becoming museum pieces, thus awarding them art or artifact status. I've reused an old hard drive case for a base - added gears, a key, polymer clay, & paint. The primary color is copper, with a darker russet mixed in. The metallic mica powders I used to enhance the texture of this piece change shade considerably depending on the lighting. It measures 9 inches from the hanging point at the top of the chain to the bottom, 4.5 inches wide, & 7/8 of an inch thick. The key swings freely. Please message me if you have any questions.
