Celtic Angel Wall Hanging Wood Carved Guardian Miniature Christmas Ornament

MEANING: An angel is a supernatural being or spirit, often depicted in human form with wings & halos around their head, found in several religions & mythologies. They are known as benevolent celestial beings who act as intermediaries between Heaven & Earth. Other roles of angels include acting as Guardian Spirits, a guiding influence, or carrying out God's tasks. Several religions regard angels as spirits. in Hebrew, the Quran, & the Christian Bibles, Angels are often depicted as messengers of God. The term angel has also been expanded to various notions of spirits found in many other religious traditions. Other roles of angels include protecting & guiding human beings & carrying out God's tasks. in Katrina's design of the full-sized Angel, the Head & Halo form a figure-8 shaped Infinity Ribbon, whose energy flows downward to an (inverted) Heart-Shape formed of the arms with the hands meeting at Heart Center in Prayer Pose. So we have the Infinite flowing into Love gathered at the Heart. Let the Heart be opened & filled with Love, Light, Joy, & Gratitude for, from, & to the Divine. We have two variations of our Celtic Angel wood carving. The larger, (13 inches tall by 11 inches wide) has more intricate weaving in the shape. The miniature, (6.5 inches by 5.25 inches wide) has less weave & the wings are solid allowing us to have a more affordable version of Angel. We tie a ribbon through the halo of the Miniature for hanging. While they are wonderful for year-round decoration for those who have an affinity with Angels, they can also be that special Christmas decoration that becomes tradition! The miniatures can be displayed on a wall, in a window, over a cradle...and they also make wonderful Christmas Tree Ornaments! SIZE: Large wall hanging: 13 inches tall by 11 inches wide Miniature is 7.75 inches tall by 5.25 inches wide THE CARVING: Our carvings are single pieces of western red cedar, designed & carved to be wall hangings. Each carving begins as a 1 X 12-inch cedar board. While we use power tools (Scroll Saw, Rotary shaft Tool, handheld detail sanders, etc.), we use no lasers, CNC machines, or computer-operated cutting machines. All work is done with our hands & eyes... We cut the 2-dimensional blanks with scroll & jigsaws (double-sized custom orders have to be cut with a jigsaw). Carving is done with rotary shaft tools & disc grinders. The 80 grit sanding is the final phase of the carving process, removing the nicks & gouges from the carving tools, & finishing the shaping of the weave. The next 2 sandings with 120 then 220 grit finishes the smoothing & polishing. They are finished with Clear Danish Oil to seal the piece, bringing out the grain & the color.
