I originally tried to paint this exact scene early on in the States project, I really struggled to get the sunflower definition & had to call it... Now midway through state 25 I tried again! Kansas has become a special state to me because it's now home to some of my family. My brother & his wife. When we moved them in we were told about the endless sunflower field & I knew that what I wanted for the Sunflower State.
