3D Printed Fractal Inspired By The Koch Snowflake

This 3D printed geometric fractal was inspired by a well known 2-dimensional fractal called the Koch Snowflake. The Koch Snowflake begins with a triangle, then each side of the triangle gets divided into three equal lengths. The middle section of each side is replaced by a triangle. This creates new sides, which then get divided & have triangles added. This process continues infinitely & creates a shape that resembles a snowflake. This 3D fractal, however, begins with a tetrahedron. Each triangular face of the tetrahedron gets divided into four smaller triangles. The center triangle is replaced with a tetrahedron. The process continues with every face of the solid form, eventually creating a cubic shape. These 3D printed fractals show the third step of the process where they are made up of three different sizes of tetrahedrons. Each model is designed in 3D modeling software on my computer & sent to the printer. Made from PLA plastic, this fractal is built one layer at a time from the bottom to the top by an FDM 3D printer. Many colors are available. I am constantly adding new colors, so if you don't see the color you want, contact me & I will add it to my stock.
