Ceramic Pear & Ladybug

This is a fireclay sculpture of a pear with a Seven-spot Ladybird climbing on its side. The beetle's legs & antennae are made of Kanthal wire, which is a heat resistant metal alloy that is possible to be fired along with ceramics. So the composition has been fired together, & the beetle is not removable from the surface of the pear. The sculpture was colored with metal oxides & fired at oC 1050 in an electric kiln. It measures 10 cm x 11 cm x 19 cm / 3.9 x 4.3 x 7.5 & weighs 0.6 kg / 1.3 lb No molds were used, it is a one-of-a-kind piece. This piece in the pictures is already sold.
