Welcome my Pili Vida Nichos series. I have always been fascinated by lockets & being able to see into things. Skulls & skeletons are also something have have always spoken to me & I love the memento mori art. While visiting Mexico, I was drawn into the Day of the Dead (Dias de las muertos) & inspired to do my version of skulls & skeletons. It was in Mexico that I found nichos & realized immediately that this would be the vessel to house my sculptured artwork & enhance it - not only does it showcase it, it also protects & houses my art. I hope you enjoy these pieces & continue to check back to see what has inspired me lately. This listing is called Medusa's Lair - don't look into her eyes. Otherwise you might end up as one of her frozen casualties. The nicho is made of tin, glass & it has been hand painted with a distressed verdigris finish. It s embellished with 4 - skeletons & 4- skulls that have been made out of clay. The medusa is made of clay & crystal eyes. She is coming out of the detailed frame which is suspended & secured to the back. The back of the nicho has a hook that will allow you hang it on your wall.
