The first inspired by the Antinous bust of Hadrian's villa (c. 130-138 AD) displayed now in the Fitzwilliam museum in Cambridge, England, & the second inspired by an Ariadne bust created by neoclassical artist Bertel Thorvaldsen (c. 1805-1810). This is a pair of romanticism busts after the antiques recreated by Leone Clerici, Italy,1882. Clerici specialised in reproducing famous antique sculptures, working from his studio in Rome, & his work was in great demand. They are made of white Carrara marble & over 90% of the finished sculpture is natural marble which gives it a look & feel of natural marble. They are finished by hand.
