Have fun matching your lampshade to your wallpaper or curtains so it 'disappears' against it, or use a contrasting material for a bold effect. Ideal for when you are using an expensive fabric or paper that you only want to use for 'accents' in your room. Just a small amount can create a focal point for less cost than covering whole walls or buying curtains. The rigid body of the shade will be covered with your paper or fabric & attached to white metal rings top & bottom, the top edges are then rolled & tucked under. These sizes refer to the diameter of the rings - I make them in standard heights, but they can be made to other heights for custom orders. Please read the full descriptions below of sizes, fittings & liner colours before ordering. 15cm (6) diameter, approx 15cm (6) high. Suggested uses: bedside lights, pendant light for fittings that have more than one shade. You will need to supply paper or fabric at least 60cm wide x 25cm high 20cm (8) diameter, approx 18cm (7) high. Suggested uses: small standard/table lamps, ceiling/pendant light for small rooms. You will need to supply paper or fabric at least 75cm wide x 30cm high. 25cm (10) diameter, approx 21cm (8.5) high. Suggested uses: medium standard/table lamps, ceiling/pendant light for small or medium sized rooms. You will need to supply paper or fabric at least 90cm wide x 30cm high 30cm (12) diameter, medium/large shade approx 21cm (8.5) high. Suggested uses: medium-large standard/table lamps, ceiling/pendant light for medium or large sized rooms. This size is the most popular & tends to suit most sizes of rooms & lamps. You will need to supply paper or fabric at least 110cm wide x 30cm high. Once you have placed your order, I will send you my address to send your fabric to. Often wallpaper is not going to be wide enough to go all the way around, so you can supply 2 pieces that match in the middle. I will match the join, which should not be too noticeable at the front. There will be a joining seam at the back where the pattern will probably not match. As standard, I use a white backing material that gives you maximum brightness when lit, as the light shines through the fabric. You also have the option to have an 'Old Gold' lining/backing (seen in these photos), which looks more opulent inside when unlit, but throws light up & down from inside when lit, rather than through the fabric or paper. This is for a shade only, not any electrical fittings. The technical stuff: Tested for fire resistance to comply with BS EN 60598-1-2008, the British Standard for Luminaries. The PVC liner material has been tested in the Lighting Association Laboratories & has passed the glow wire test. Maximum recommended bulb wattage for 15cm is 40w, then 60w for larger sizes. Low energy bulbs reduce the risk of scorching. As standard I use UNO fittings, which are the most common fitting used in Europe & the UK (includes a converter insert). The table lamp fitting is at the bottom of the shade, the pendant fitting is at the top of the shade). USA spider fitting for harp lamps (a smaller hole & at the top of the shade) is available for 20cm & 30cm diameter only. This is a custom-made order & is not returnable.
