Swimming Dolphins Blue Ocean Wallsculpture Whale Art Marine Gift

A pair of bottle nosed dolphins swimming in a warm sea. 12x6 inches I'm a bit of a land locked guy but I have observed these animals & their cousins on holiday. A real symbol of freedom & release as they push ahead of a boat on a sunny sea! Exhilarating! This piece is another that was probably influenced by the reproduction work I create for the Royal Ontario Museum in Toronto. It has a bit of an ancient Mediterranean artwork look & feel to it. I started by making an original sculpture in soft oil based clay. I made a mold in rubber of this original , & into this mold I pour hydrostone plaster. The editions that I cast from this mold are then hand painted on the damp plaster by me. For this reason, each is a unique work of art hand painted in a style & tradition similar to a fresco process. The result is a one of a kind three dimensional image combining the best effects of sculpture & flatwork painting! A great gift for a whale lover. IMPORTANT If you require this item for an installation or outdoor display, the same image can be made in concrete, & is available elsewhere on my site. I do not recommend installing hydrostone art work as tile. The finishes are too delicate. There are hooks on the back , to hang up the sculpture like a picture. Thanks for visiting!
