Venus - Keeper of the Ancient Pulse Long before temples & written words, before inked scrolls or carved tablets, there stood a figure in the soil of what we now call Willendorfrounded, grounded, & powerful. Sculpted some 30,000 years ago, she carried no name, but she carried meaning. Revered not for ornament, but for essence. A symbol of fertility, continuity, & the sacred rhythm of life. This piece draws inspiration from that ancient Venus, an emblem of abundance, a guardian of the generative force, a prayer formed by hand. Across early cultures, forms like hers were created to honour the feminine principlenot just in the act of birth, but in the cycle of sowing & reaping, in the weaving of families, in the nourishing of life. She was right at the centre offering strength, stability, & sustenance. This modern interpretation is handcrafted in my studio as a small yet mighty invocation of those same truths. It stands as a reminder of what many ancient cultures understood: that nurturing, provision, & the continuity of life are not only sacred, but essential. To nourish others, to safeguard new lifethis was once the highest calling. Abundance was never taken for granted; it was prayed for, celebrated, & fiercely protected.
