Original Hand Painted item Geometric Pillow Cover, Blue Pink Art Pillow, Batik Case Pillow, Hand Painted Silk , Modern Geometric Cushion, Geometric Lines Pillow This decorative pillow cover is 46 x 46cm (18'' x 18'' ) & depicts on the front side geometric pattern an abstract composition in blue, white & pink tones of color on 100% silk fabric. The other side is a plain light blue color rayon textile. The two pieces are double stitched together with an invisible zipper to ease removal & cleaning of the cover. The underwater composition is hand-dyed with a technique called Batik which uses wax to isolate parts of the fabric while dye others with color. When dye slips between the wax crackles it produces very fine lines colors which is characteristic of Batik technique. The process is usually repeated over & over to layer colors & produce unique patterns. ''Washing off'' the wax from the fabric is difficult sensitive & time consuming but rewarding once the vibrant & shiny colors are revealed on the clean fabric.
