Woman's hand sculpture, terracotta & patinated, art object, figurative art, gift idea, THE HAND. Unique piece modeled by hand in a block of raw clay. The skin is nicely patinated with pigments & beeswax. Height = 22cm. This work is original & unique, it was completely made by hand in a block of raw clay. After modeling the raw clay, the sculpture was dried for several weeks before being fired at 1000o. To finish it was patinated with beeswax & pigments. For this coloring the wax pigments are applied layer after layer & several hours of drying are necessary before applying the next layer. The superposition of numerous layers of colors allows for beautiful transparency effects. Be careful not to hit the surface of your sculpture against a hard material which could damage it & avoid exposing your sculpture to the sun or leaving it near a heat source so as not to alter its patina.
