She represents the forbidden fruit of Eve, who bears the weight of the patriarchal denial of & rejection of female divinity, but can be seen as also representing women's deep endurance, forbearance,and refusal to accept what is dictated to them, but to be brave enough to taste their own wisdom. She also represents Sophia, the personification of Wisdom Herself, the Greek goddess of knowledge & one of the few feminine representations of divine wisdom to survive in the Bible, as the Holy Spirit/Wisdom in the Catholic Trinity. And, finally she represents the Goddesses & Priestesses of Avalon, for whom an apple is their symbol & representation of their sacred work & the mystical isle in which they dwell. She is cast in resin & colored with a rich red mica pigment. Her silver-tone belt carries an enameled apple charm & a multifaceted cut glass bead. The apple is a symbol of the Goddess, of protection, of female strength, & of the ancient Isle of Avalon. The belt is removable & can be interchanged with any of the other belts in our Story Goddess collection. This goddess is meant to be a companion goddess, to travel with you, to share your experiences & stories, & to bless your spaceyour desk, your office, your pocket, with her power & essence. She is about four inches tall & very sturdyshe can get wet or be dropped without being damaged.
