Chickadee Framed Sculpture Art Tile

6x6 inch hand-painted chickadee relief sculpture mounted on custom 12 x 12 inch wood frame. One dark & snowy afternoon, as I watched chickadees at my feeder, I sculpted this 'larger than life' portrait. These tiny birds flit back & forth,from the nearby bushes to the food source, pausing briefly between flights. This pause is the moment I've tried to portray . I first make an original sculpture in soft clay. I make a mold of the sculpture. Into this mold I pour cement or hydrostone plaster. I'll paint on the wet plaster cast to produce a fresco type effect. For this reason , each is a unique work of art, a combination of the best effects of painting & sculpture.
