Lovingly crafted from a vintage hemp fabric from the Hmong hill tribe of Northern Thailand, this beautiful throw pillow makes a gorgeous addition to any room. [ Details ] This hemp fabric has a worn & rustic appearance & natural hemp texture that captures the essence of vintage hill tribe. The shade is a indigo/blue/grey with a patchy appearance & worn stripes, finished with a grey cotton reverse. Front is a crafted from vintage Hmong hill tribe hemp fabric. Gorgeous rustic feel & appearance. Invisible zip enclosure. Fully lined interior. Approx size : 20 x 20. Optional cotton insert filled with natural kapok. [ Notes ] The handmade nature of Hmong textiles means that they may have imperfections from the natural process of weaving, batik application & dying, often further adding to their character & uniqueness. Colors may differ ever so slightly to the pictures due to different viewing monitors / device displays. Fabric Care : Wash fabric in cold/lukewarm water, ideally by hand, & shade dry. Salting the water slightly helps prevent further dye loss. [ What is Batik? ] Batik is a resist process for making designs on fabric. The artist uses wax to prevent dye from penetrating the cloth, leaving blank areas in the dyed fabric. [ What is Indigo Dye? ] Indigo dye has been used for thousands of years by civilizations all over the world to dye fabric blue. As much as 1 tonne of leaves is needed to produce just 2kg of dye.
