Refunds will not be given for wall incompatibility Wall paint is one of the most important factors when installing vinyl wall murals. If you're unsure about how vinyl will adhere to your painted surface please start with the TEST decal on a lower part of that surface where you wish to fit the rest of decals. in the past few years, paint manufacturers have come out with paints that resist dirt & grime & are easy to clean. It just so happens that the properties that make these paints dirt resistant & cleanable also make them resistant to vinyl application. Other paints have come out with low VOC levels (Volatile Organic Compounds) to make them less harmful to the environment. Low VOC paints resist vinyl adhesion as well. Sticking a decal to a wall. It really shouldn't be this hard. But with the advent of low-VOC paint, life has gotten a little tougher for those of us that do it for a living. Due to government regulations & efforts to make the world a better place, paint manufacturers have been changing the chemistry & reducing the level of Volatile Organic Compounds in their product. & that change has affected the way decal materials adhere to this new paint. What was once a simple install is now a game of chance. You apply the graphics & a few days later they are peeling off the wall. Decals just don't want to stick to these low-VOC paints. The issue is that all of these paints are different. I don't have a material that I can guarantee for every paint. What works well with one paint may fail on another. But the good news is now that we recognize the problem, we can recommend a few extra steps that will lead to a more successful application. Although adding steps may seem bothersome, this careful & thorough effort could be the difference between a happy customer & a waste of money. Check out the steps below & watch 3M's instruction video for more information. How to Ensure Better Adhesion Prepare a cleaning solution of 70% isopropyl alcohol & 30% water. Saturate a cleaning cloth with the solution. Thoroughly wipe all parts of the wall where the decal will adhere. Wait 10 minutes for the wall to dry. Repeat steps 2-4 once or twice more for
