No deforestation! in fact, because the banana plant is a giant grass & not a tree it grows to full size every 9 months & once the bananas had been harvested the mother trunk naturally decomposes. Now a French company recycles the banana plant trunks & gives it a second life transforming it in a beautiful veneer! & Tedzukuri Atelier transforms this incredible new material in beautiful lampshades!
