New to the shop! Swedish Dala Horses hand-sculpted in Paper Mache & hand painted with acrylic paints. Dala Horses represent Good Luck in Swedish culture, & they are one of the most recognized pieces of traditional folk art with their bright colors & attention to detail. This is my version of one of my favorite folk art pieces. Paper Mache Dala Horses are made from strips of newsprint & glue/water mixture. Several layers have been added to make this a sturdy piece. Horse is then hand painted with acrylic paints & paint markers to create a highly visual piece of folk art. My Paper Mache pieces are hollow & very lightweight.
