Various sizes available - For reference, the basket in the majority of pics is size E. Oblong is the natural shape but they can be made spherical & other shapes easily. [ About ] A classic example of Asian craftmanship, these fishing traps are handwoven from natural bamboo using techniques that are centuries old. We've modified an aspen bracket to create a beautiful wall mounted pendant, perfect for placing anywhere in the home. It is light enough to be stuck to the wall using strong adhesive, or can be fixed to wall with the embedded mount on the rear allowing it to hang on a screw completely flush to the wall without any visible screws/fixture for a perfectly clean look. The basket is compressible/expandable & can achieve many shapes & position, round, ufo-shaped etc - the oblong shape is the natural position/shape - shapes are achieved simply by compressing from each end, & tying the supplied string inside to pull taut as shown to then hold in desired position. COLORS : There are two color options - natural & white. Natural has an aspen natural wood color bracket & a wooden bulb holder. White has a white aspen bracket with white silicone bulb holder. [ Cable length / switch options ] CABLE LENGTH - The cable can be made to any length. If you would like a specific length not in the listing options, simply purchase the closest meter from the listing options & add in the order notes the specific length you require. For example, if you would like a cable length 265cm, purchase the 3m option & add the 265cm request in the order notes. We would then make a cable set that is 265cm long. If you require longer than options listed feel free to send a message. Cable length is measured from the cable hole at the back/bottom of the bracket (where it starts to hang down to the plug) i.e length is roughly from the bracket to the plug. SWITCH OPTIONS - The switch can be placed at any point on the cable, simply add your request in the order notes. The default switch position if not requested is 50cm from the plug. We recommend softer energy saving LED or weaker vintage style bulbs as seen in the pictures to protect the bamboo from heat damage. As each piece is individually handmade they will differ slightly in size, shape & shade, & may have small marks & wear. The odd bamboo strand may be slightly frayed or snapped, but this does not affect the product, you can optionally trim / snip out & position other strands in it's place - due to the handwoven nature & natural bamboo strands used, small imperfections like this are to be expected, but do not affect the design, shaping or use. Oblong baskets will be folded/flattened for easier delivery but this has no effect on their shape or strength due to the unique design - simply filling out & 'pumping' a few times like an accordion will restore the original oblong shape.
