Unique votive candle holders made from Douglas fir. The sides are slotted allowing the warm glow of the candlelight to spill out into the room creating a beautiful atmosphere. Rustic yet refined in their organic shape, these candle holders will add a homey touch to any room. Douglas fir, also known as Oregon pine, is a species of evergreen native to western North America. The trees grow from 70 to over 300 feet tall & is extensively used to provide timber worldwide. Native Hawaiians built their double-hulled war canoes known as waa kaulua from coast Douglas fir logs that had drifted ashore. The wood is sanded smooth to 220 grit & rubbed with a combination of food safe mineral oil & bees wax which enhances the woods natural beauty. Dimensions (approx.): 8 1/8 L. x 3 3/8 W. x 3 3/8 D. I list these holders for use with (3) candles or a single candle (separate listing), but can make special order for longer pieces that can hold more candles for a large dining table or fireplace mantle.
