Horse Study # 2 Concrete Art Sculpture Tile

A study of the eye of a horse. One of several in a series of lifesize sculptures concerning the widely expressive facial features of horses. I'm a bit of a newcomer when it comes to sculpting these animals. I've found the unique variations & expressions of different horses to make for some really interesting field work! From my original sculpt in soft clay, I made a mold & have cast these pieces in fine cement. Suitable for in or outdoor display. There is a wire on the back to hang up on a wall, or it could be installed like any ceramic tile. For many years I carved extremely delicate birds out of wood. It disturbed me that these sculptures could not be touched due to their fragility. I love the fact that these current works are meant to be handled. I was pleased with the coloration of this piece. It has the appearance of weathered bronze. Approximately 6 x 6 inches. This tile is very slightly smaller than my other horse tile, but they would work well as a pair.
