Gecko/ Bronze Lizard On Soap Stone/ Massive With Gray-Green Patin Partly Prepared & Polished Stone

This unique solid bronze figurine depicted a lizzard on a gray-green bar of SOAP stone, partly edited & polished. The polished pieces are shiny dark gray-green. The patina of the lizard fits nicely with the color of the stone so that they together form a whole. The lizard is stuck with kit. in forming the stone I am as much as possible on the basis of its original form. The figurine is about 18 cm. long, 10 cm wide & 7 cm. high. The weight is 1324 grams. Working stone is a time consuming job. Making a bronze sculpture is a lot of work. I first make a wax form, you can use all kinds of materials, as long as it can burn. I like to use materials from nature. You make a mold around the wax form, which is a very precise work. Then the mold goes in the oven at very high temperature for a long time. After cleaning, the mold can be filled with red hot liquid bronze. After that, it's still a lot of work to work to top it off. I have done this process, except pouring, myself a few times already, but now I have found a professional bronze caster who is casting my sculptures.
