Great Horned Owl Relief Sculpture, Hand-Colored Cast Stone Art

A cast stone relief sculpture of an always impressive Great Horned Owl! A very unique art item, from a Ward Foundation World Champion carver p I've spent many years observing , drawing, & sculpting birds of all kinds. The owls are particularly interesting subjects for me. They have terrific features which lend themselves very well to sculpture. Most people seem to relate to them in a special way too, perhaps because of their almost human expressions. As with any artwork I make ,success for me comes when the subject 'speaks'. I was pleased with how this fellow turned out. I think any art or nature enthusiast would enjoy this striking sculpture. I create the original work in soft clay. Then I make a rubber mould of the clay piece & cast hydrostone cement into the mould. The damp cement editions are then colored by hand in a manner similar to a fresco process. As a result , no two are ever the same. IMPORTANT If you need this for outdoor display, or tile installation, please convo me. This same item is also available in cast concrete for a bit extra cost. I do not recommend installing hydrostone items as tiles There are hooks on the back to hang this sculpture on a wall like a picture or painting.
