Back in 1972 Jonathan Livingston Seagull helped this graceful bird become a best seller & launch the studio. Selling continuously for more than 50 years this may now be considered a classic. The gulls are molded in our proprietary compound of resins, Pellucida, which is similar to but more durable than Bisque porcelain. The wingspan of the birds is about 16 inches. Including the polished burlwood base, the piece is about 16 inches tall. The supporting wires are copper coated steel & will dull rapidly in the atmosphere. They are somewhat flexible so the birds move in a slight breeze. It is SIGNED & the pair comes with a CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. PLEASE NOTE: The birds are shipped DISASSEMBLED. (this saves on shipping costs.) They just need to be inserted onto the wires - no glue is needed; friction will hold them in place & they can be disassembled for future moves. The base is a polished manzanita burl, responsibly harvested only from private lands where needed for fire protection brush clearance.
