100% hand-dipped beeswax candles in various colors. Height 12 cm x 2.5 cm thick, 68g The delivery time may be longer if the desired color is not sufficiently in stock. in all my colors: altar white - lemon yellow - golden yellow - pink - red - rose - burgundy - green dark green - turquoise - olive green - dark blue - light blue - blue - orange - grey - purple/violet Please note: The candles are freshly dipped & ice-cold. They require a longer storage period (4 months) for a patina to form, at which point they are ready to be burned sparingly. I make the candles as soon as the order comes in. Each one is unique, because it's individually pulled from hot wax. The longer they can be stored, the more patiently they burn. It's therefore advisable to order the Christmas candles early in the year. This allows them to develop the necessary hardness, which is also reflected in their beautiful surface (patina). A discerning nose will also notice the pleasant fragrance they give off while burning. NOW THAT'S SUSTAINABILITY My candles are made by hand, not mechanically by pressing a button. They aren't poured or dipped in batches. They are created from hot beeswax, each one individually drawn, & they get their substance from nature (from the industrious bee colony); they radiate a gentle light, spread their atmosphere, & smell pleasant (even when the tree has been bathed in light for hours). The cotton wick is cut to length, then dipped into the hot wax & dried with a cloth after a short, cold water bath. The process is then repeated 15 times; this ensures it has the correct thickness. Stay after being pulled in ice & snow. Then they are flash-frozen. The longer they are stored, the better they burn. Storage should last until a patina forms on the surface. Among the ancient Swedes, candles were drawn during the time of the 12 Holy Nights (i.e., from December 24th to January 6th) for the Christmas celebration of the following year. The burning time of my candles (150 minutes) exceeds that of the industrial candle. It burns calmly & efficiently, & has a pleasant, subtle fragrance. These candles leave no unpleasant odor. FOR COMPARISON Commercially available paraffin candles are produced from the so-called lubricating oil fractions of the vacuum distillation process at ERDOIL. During the dewaxing of these fractions, a byproduct called paraffin sludge is generated, which still contains up to 30% oil. Crude paraffin is then extracted from this sludge using various oil separation processes. This is then further refined. The extraction of paraffins also produces paraffin oils as a by-product, which can be further refined into white oils, which serve as high-quality lubricants. Hard & intermediate paraffins are produced from slack wax. This sludge is produced during the dewaxing of engine oils. Wick care: Do not blow out the candle, but dip the wick into the wax & straighten it again. After cooling, reduce the wick modestly. Rudolf Steiner (Complete Edition 351, Workers' Lectures, page 147) When people in olden times made beeswax candles & lit them, they really saw it as a very strange sacred act: We got this wax that's burning from the beehive. It was firmly established there. When the fire melts this wax & this wax evaporates, then the wax comes into the same state as it is in our own bodies. - & in the burning wax of the candle, people used to sense something that flew up to heaven. which is within her own body. This was something that made them feel a special devotion & which in turn led them to regard the bee as a particularly sacred animal, because it prepares something that man actually has to constantly prepare within himself.
