A beautiful one of a kind dragon egg & nest by artist Kim Coombes is a decorative ornament that's a must have for any fantasy art lover! Height of egg & nest is approx. 6(15.25cm) Includes a descriptive scroll with details on this dragon egg signed by the Artist. The Bristleback Dragon Egg is constructed from polyvinyl coated felt, genuine tiger eye, faux fur, steel pins & a polystyrene foam core (approx. 4.5 or 11.43cm in height). The eggs nest is made with genuine gemstones polished by the artist: tiger eye (a stone that is believed to be for inner power, good luck & prosperity), black onyx (for positive thinking & alignment; it is said to dispel negative energy & promote emotional well being), pink moonstone (A stone that is said to be for new beginnings, patience & improved intuition.) & jasper (for relaxation & calming it promotes feelings of happiness while helping to release negative energy). The gemstones are affixed to a dense cardboard frame (approx. 1 or 2.54cm in height) & coated in epoxy resin. The Bristleback Dragon is a timid fellow as far as dragons go, but don't let that fool you, this dragon has one of the most intense flames I've ever encountered! Like a flaming tornado it has a fire funnel of approx. six feet in diameter & can reach over sixty feet! It's believed to be used primarily for defence; when threatened, the dragons direct their fire at the sand creating small glass infused storms that allow the bulky dragon to get away. They live in the central grassy flat lands & feed mainly on herd animals such as deer & elk, but they're not overly fussy eaters. Also known as Dogeared Dragon they have rather prominent ears which is, as far as I know, distinct to the species. Found generally in shades of brown & bronze these dragons have hair like keratin spines on their legs & backs giving the dragon it's fuzzy appearance. Hatchlings emerge from sand nests guarded by their mothers where almost immediate flight training is required to help maintain the animals nomadic lifestyle. Fortunately the hatchlings emerge from their shells as well developed mini versions of adults & will mature to their full size of twelve to fifteen feet quickly.
