Height of egg & nest is approx. 5.5(14cm) Includes a descriptive scroll with details on this dragon egg signed by the Artist. The Ebony Spectral Wyvern Egg is constructed out of faux suede, reversible sequin cloth, steel pins & a polystyrene foam core (approx. 4.75 or 12.1cm in height & 3.25 or 8.3cm in width). The eggs nest is a mosaic made of mylar paper, coated copper wire & polyvinyl felt. It's affixed to a dense cardboard frame (approx. 1 or 2.54cm in height) & coated in epoxy resin. The Ebony Spectral Wyvern (Wyvernus Incineratus) is an odd fellow that defies all logic when it comes to camouflage. With an array of multicoloured scales over its rich black skin this stunning reptile will change its scales to gold when frightened or agitated. Some believe that this ability allows the wyvern to reflect the sun & blind its adversaries; others say that you don't need to blind them when you have the ability to obliterate them. These wyverns naturally produce acetylene; combine that with their lungs ability to filter & exhale pure oxygen & you've got an oxyacetylene torch with an attitude. Projecting a devastating 3500 degrees Celsius (6300 degrees Fahrenheit) inferno! These small wyverns are well suited to life in the dense tropical vegetation that they call home. Reaching a length of just over twelve feet, with over half of it being tail, they have a slightly shorter wing span than their length. They tend do more leaping from tree to tree than flying & can only do so in short bursts. The females lay their eggs in deep holes that they dig in the moist tropical soil, at which point they are on their own. Hatchlings have enough fire power to deter even the largest predator & have strong hunting instincts, so a maternal presence is not required.
