The tealight holder - candlestick is made of mountain ash wood which I brought from Sweden. The wood grows very slowly there & is therefore dense & heavy. The branches of the mountain ash had to be trimmed & were peeled off immediately after sawing. The wood was dried & then processed here in Germany. The cut surfaces are finely ground & the candle holder is treated with wood oil. The hole for the tea light is 40 mm, so that standard tea lights, scented tea lights & also LED tea lights fit into the candle holder. The base is sanded smooth. The natural materials such as wood & horn provide me with the templates for the design of my objects through their diverse shapes, colors & grains. They are wonderful, warm & living materials. All my wooden objects can have pores, cracks, knots, defects & also wormholes or signs of insects or other animals. These are deliberately not removed by me, but used to design the objects. Just like us, nature is not perfect & has small quirks & mistakes. It is up to us to accept them & see the true beauty in the materials that nature offers us. It gives us so many wonderful things, you just have to discover them & perceive them.
