The Tardy Rabbit - Sold By Commission

This is a project I call The Tardy Rabbit. He is, of course, the infamous white rabbit of Alice in Wonderland (I'm late I'm late). So many parents had reacted wrongly upon seeing my earlier piece about Peter Rabbit, telling their children, Look, there's the white rabbit, that I decided to create one. He is the prime mover in the 1865 classic written by Charles Lutwidge Dodgsen (better known by his pseudonym, Louis Carroll),Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. The first imaginings of the tale were told to the three daughters of a friend during a five mile row up a river on a summer's day in 1862. Three years later Alice's Adventures were published. My white rabbit is complete with ascot, waist coat, plaid jacket, the obligatory English umbrella and, of course, his time piece. His base is 21long, & 10 1/2wide. Tardy is 27 tall, from base to the tip of his ears. He rocks (not with my usual ball bearings) more traditionally on rockers (using updated materials) & still carries my Rocking R logo burned into the underside of the base. I hope you will enjoy. He was great fun to make (even with the many challenges of working in a new method. Not constructed as of old, but more sculpted of new material).
