Fused Glass Handkerchief Candle Vase/Draped Textural Holder

Fused glass handkerchief candle vase / draped textural candle holder. Elegant fused glass handkerchief candle holder in calming turquoise & blues. At the top, it measures about 5 x 5 & is 5 1/2 tall. The base is 2 1/2 in diameter, & is perfect for holding a votive or pillar candle up to 2 diameter. i created this piece using draping method to create a handkerchief effect. So, what is this? OK, I'll tell you. First, I cut the glass pieces by hand in the shape of a square, using a combination of clear & transparent glass for the base. Then I sprinkle pieces of glass in coordinating colors around the outside half. Then the piece goes into the kiln & is contour fused...that is to say, a temperature that is high enough to fuse everything together but low enough to keep the piece textural. After this firing, the square piece is then draped on a stainless steel form, & the heat of the kiln allows it to drape over the form so that the hot glass folds into this lovely handkerchief shape.
