Mirror with ceramic frame made entirely by hand. The frame is made of soft beige stoneware & each small flower is handcrafted with colored porcelain. This unique piece was made as part of an artist residency at the 1001 Pots exhibition in the Laurentians, Quebec. The mirror was fired in the kiln in four separate parts & then assembled with a museum grade clear epoxy. A wire is attached to the back for hanging. Use an appropriate anchor for your wall that can support a heavy weight (4.5 kg). Handle with care & clean with a soft cloth only. 72 x 42 x 5 cm 4.5 kg Stphanie Goyer-Morin, a ceramist based in Montreal, will lead a project during her residency focused on decorative elements in the home, particularly mirrors & bas-reliefs. By exploring different methods of assembly & suspension, she will experiment with modular formats for wall plates that can be juxtaposed or combined. This project is part of a practice in which delicacy & imagination play a central role. Trained at the Centre de cramique Bonsecours & a graduate in visual arts from UQAM, Goyer-Morin combines sculpture & utility in creations that evoke fairy tales & wonder. in her Rosemont studio, she shapes porcelain with gentleness & meticulousness, creating objects that invite slowness, wonder, & storytelling.
