Happy Family is a handmade ceramic tile (low relief sculpture) fixed on a wooden board & ready to decorate the wall of any living room. My artworks are frequently inspired of totally insignificant observations that spark something in my mind. The next step is to find an expressive form to incorporate the story into it. I believe that sometimes, using a humorist form is the ideal mean to approach the audience in a natural way, to entice it into the work. I always hope that people will find their own interpretations & relate themselves to the artwork in their own terms. Happy Family belongs to a series of decorative ceramic tile collection in black & white. The series is created according to my conviction that a sculptured tile is a perfect universal vehicle for artistic expression in clay. The possibilities of a ceramic are broad, varied & diverse that it offers opportunities for any possible interest & inclination linking towards drawing, painting & sculpture or even traditional ceramic processes. Ceramic tile is the canvas whose primary function is to be decorative. Happy family illustrates how clay offers a richer & more durable surface to draw & paint on than either paper or canvas. I chose black & white as I like this particular palette & believe that it is able to add abstract modern color & texture to a neutral interior. Each of my artworks are original & unique, stamped with my initials. 100% handmade. Dimensions: 38 X 29 cm (about 15 X 11.4 in), weight: 1824 gr (about 4 lb) Materials: terracotta (clay), acrylic paint, acrylic gloss varnish, fired in electric kiln (1000 degrees) Paypal payment preferred.
