The Levade - By Commission Installments Gladly Accepted

I call this piece The Levade. The Levade is another of the classical airs above ground of The Spanish Riding School. A brief explanation of the school can be found in my earlier listing The Capriole, that also being one of the classic movements. in the Levade, the horse rises & holds steady, for some length of time, both forelegs twenty degrees off the ground. This rather sturdy animal is splendidly arrayed in the finery befitting a gentleman's mount during the Baroque period. The gilded tassels & stirrups swing with the upward movement. Gemstones & gold braid glisten from the elaborate tack. This horse & the platform he stands on, rock within the base. It stands 30 from base to plume & 25 from base front to tail tip.
