Polymer Clay Tree in A Graveyard - And Swing, Miniature, Bonsai

Rest in Peace This is a gravestone scene with a visitation tree & swing upon which to sit. Remembering those who've passed, we find our new balance so we may all rest in peace. I love bonsai trees but I don't have much luck keeping them alive. So I make mine from polymer clay, first forming a wire armature to cover with the polymer clay. I blended the colors & then formed color-gradient rods which are combined to make a cane. The cane was cross-sliced & covers the tree structure. The leaves are made from a separate cane & applied individually. The tree is cured at each stage of construction & finally set on its base. The ground cover is made of mossy green polymer clay. The iron fence & rocks are polymer clay. The swing is strung with amethyst & hematite beads on fish line & the seat is a polymer clay cane slice. I made a change to the tree swing after first pictures were taken. It is shown in the last picture: I added a bit of clay to the top of the beads to stabilize the rope on the swing.
