My interpretation of the cloak of a bird spoken of in the Nuxalk Creation Story was born in a dream. After recently hearing the Nuxalk Creation story again, I went to sleep wondering what a cloak would look like. A vision came to me. Placing the cloak on your face & touching the beak to your chin transforms you into a supernatural bird. in the story, wearing the cloak of a bird, an animal, or a fish would enable you to descend a supernatural totem pole from the Spirit World down to earth. The color copper was used to place the cloak in time. Creation occurred before raven brought the light to the world. Before the light everything was the color of copper.
