Rosa, Exceptional Table Lamp Made From A Carved Ostrich Eggshell

A beautiful lamp with very fine carving. When not lit you can appreciate the deepness of the relief carving on the surface of the eggshell. A lot of attention to detail in order to render the result as realistic as possible. This work was done using acid etching initially then high speed drill with diamond burrs for the details & acid polishing to give a very smooth finish. When lit the lamp creates a very soft light naturally coloured by diffusion through the shell. The thickness of the shell remaining after etching & carving determines the brightness & colour of the diffused light giving a 3 dimensional effect. The eggshell is screwed onto a matt black square wooden base fitted with a 220V (Europe) 1.5 meter power cord with switch & a E14 light bulb (15w max).
