Acid Etched Nandou Eggshell, Aged Metal Patina

The design, inspired from Astrology & the Tarot, was done on a real Nandou ( South American ostrich) eggshell using the technique of etching by acid. This is a beautiful & rare collectible, one of a kind which deserves to be safely displayed in a glass cabinet. The aged metal effect is the result of research by the artist & involves using specialised patinas applied with an infinite dexterity. A little bit of chemistry, a good dose of Art & lots of patience. It looks like it's made of solid brass but in reality it only weighs several grammes. The last photo shows a coin of 50 centimes of a Euro (23mm diameter) to give a better idea of the size of the egg.
