I start with copper sheet metal & hand emboss the font of your choosing. Please note price includes shipping & packaging. Your sign with arrive fully protected with Tissue Paper wrap & ribbon tie. The embossing is all hand tooled & great care, time & attention is taken to give it depth & texture. Last name, favorite phrase, etc. Underneath I hand stamp your wedding or anniversary date along with the individual names. This can be done for a couple or family. Next, I torch fire a patina onto the copper. This is like painting with a torch. I can achieve an array of colors ranging from vibrant, to more subdued hues. Each piece turns out unique & one of a kind. The large embossed letters are hand sanded to show bits & pieces of the shiny metal underneath. This gives the piece great character while contrasting with the aged look of the patina. The copper art is then placed on a finished wood piece & set with finishing nails. This listing is for a sign on the natural wood with the original bark on the top & bottom. You may request natural, medium or dark stain. Please note, each piece of wood varies as it is cut from a tree. Your piece may be more rectangular or may include a curve or hump as the Man Cage sign shown in the photos. Each is unique & one of a kind. You may choose the amount of letters for the embossing. This is usually the last name, a phrase, a place or even a store name. We have done a homebrew sign, a vacation home sign called Journey's Reward. Note that all signs requiring more than 8 letters are done on a larger piece of wood. I am able to torch fire two types of finishes. The Old World muted has more subtle, earthy antiqued hues. The vibrant has brighter reddish & violet hues for a more modern copper patina. The Wharff sign is the Old World muted & the others are examples of Vibrant & modern. Each sign comes with saw tooth brackets for easy hanging. These also look great in a picture easel. If you prefer a wire or twine for hanging, please let us know in note to seller upon check-out. You may also select a two coat polyurethane added to your sign to protect if outdoor. It is recommended to be protected from outdoor elements as much as possible. Some have placed on porch or covered area. Re coating must be done every year.
