Grandmothers' Footsteps

Grandmothers' Footsteps represents the teachings of my grandmothers to walk a straight & narrow path. They both were very pious & taught all us grandchildren that God is good & that we should be too. in this piece there is a ladies hat & handkerchief, a little girl's shoes & hair ribbon, grandmother's Bible, a little girl's Bible & money for the offering plate as they walk to church both literally & figuratively. Please note that any time I use a Bible in my work it is never adhered to the box with anything other than a wire which is hidden in the crease of the book & fastened to the box. I never use glue or anything that will deface the Bible. The box is handmade & the painting is oil on birch panel. Grandmothers' Footsteps
