PRODUCTION I modeled the figurine or statue in clay based on photos of the original, which is located in the Archaeological Museum of Seville, Andalusia (Spain). I then made a mold of it to produce copies in Jesmonite or acrylic resin. Finally, we painted the copies with high-quality oil paint in different shades & tones. The original is a bronze statuette (8th or 7th century BC) found in the Archaeological Museum of Seville. It was discovered in El Cerro del Carambolo (Camas), a possible Phoenician sanctuary. It was part of liturgical regalia. Astarte was considered the protective goddess & patron saint of her cities. Her cult & veneration spread throughout the Mediterranean & Mesopotamia.
