Head Sleep, alabaster, felt Year of creation: 2008 Sleep belongs to a series of related forms that deal with the themes of seed & egg, embryo & germ, navel & folds, skull & capsules, dream & sleep, etc. An illustration shows several of these pieces in a synopsis in the so-called Seminarium. This sculpture is handmade from Jena alabaster. The polished surface invites you to touch it intensively - a pleasure to hold in your hands. The handmade wool felt base visually connects the head to the base & gives it support. The head can be placed in different positions in this way. Elevated placement on a freestanding base is recommended. A hole on the bottom allows it to be placed on a pole.
