Egg, alabaster, felt Year of origin: 2008 This egg belongs to a series of related forms that deal with the topics of seed & egg, embryo & seedling, navel & folds, skull & capsules, dream & sleep, etc. An illustration shows several of these pieces in a synopsis in the so-called Seminarium. This sculpture is handmade from Jena alabaster & finely shipped. The egg can optionally be placed in the corresponding hand-felted shell for better staging. If the egg is to be presented lying down, the felt can serve as a base. A placement against a discreetly colored background is recommended. Height: 19 cm Width: 16 cm Length: 16 cm Weight: approx. 7.5 kg Important note: - Jena alabaster is not suitable for outdoor installation - rainwater attacks the surface & destroys the structure over time. - Protect from heat above 100oC - no heat stone; Do not place in or on the stove: Alabaster sweats crystal water at high temperatures & goes into the unextinguished state (hydraulic gypsum).
